Clinic Times

I currently hold clinical sessions on line during the week, generally between 8.30 and 5 pm.

Making an appointment

Referrals can be made from a variety of sources including self-referral, GPs, other health-care professionals and private insurance companies.  In the first instance, it is useful to have an initial free-of-charge consultation on the phone before booking an appointment for assessment.  You can contact me by email or telephone (below) for an informal chat.

Assessment

The first appointment is an assessment.  This typically lasts between 1 hour and 1 1/2, although sometimes a further appointment is necessary to fully complete the assessment and make recommendations for treatment.

Treatment

The number of treatment sessions required can vary greatly depending on the nature of the problem.  This can be discussed at the assessment and can be reviewed during treatment.  Treatment can be anything from 4-6 sessions to several months.  In some cases, with more entrenched problems it could be longer.

Fees - Self-Funding

Please call or email for further information and a copy of my working contract.  Please note fees are payable at or before each session.

Fees -Private Health Insurance

I am a recognised health provider with all the main insurance companies. Most private health insurance covers clinical psychology services. However, please note, some insurance companies require a referral to the psychologist by a GP or a Consultant Psychiatrist.

Confidentiality

The meetings are strictly confidential, within the boundaries of safeguarding.  This will be discussed at the beginning of the sessions.  My practice and privacy policy are in line with current GDPR regulations.

Frequency of Sessions

As a rule, weekly consultations are usually recommended in the first instance. Thereafter, the frequency of meetings varies depending on the stage of therapy and desired goals.
